A Rewarding Ride

Should we go out, should we stay in…? I have a goal for the year, 6,000 km, and I can’t waste any days decent enough to ride if I want to make it. It was 6°C when we left and 4°C by the time we got home and that was good enough.
Our reward:

The ride through the woods was a muddy one. When the frozen paths thaw they are particularly muddy. By the time we got home the bikes were a mess and we were also covered with sand and grit. I think we will have to avoid those paths for a while.

Very interesting fungi. Lovely rainbow pics. I’m sure you’ll make your goal. That’s quite a feat!
What a stunning rainbow shot! And how well planned, to have it centered over the bike path.
I’d never heard of mushroom troops before, but I like it. One source I found states that cluster is also appropriate: “ Mushrooms that are in a close group but not close enough to be called a cluster are said to be in a troop.”. So it’s a judgement call, apparently. Tc his definitely looks like a troop to me.
Thanks, Scott. Yes, and I thought troop was a more colorful word than cluster. Fungi colonies grow in a petri dish or old bread apparently.
Wonderful rainbow photo! And, a long shadows too.!
The double rainbow over the bike path is a great photo. And love the colors in the fungi photo.
Oh, that rainbow arching completely over the trail is incredible. Perfect timing. I like “troop” of mushrooms as well.
I know you will reach your goal. Especially, like me, you are not really counting miles 😉. Might reach my goal as well.
Well, yes, that was worth the ride! Gorgeous rainbow and the fungi looked like they came out of a storybook! Good luck on attaining the goal!
A double rainbow, brilliant. 6000kms, is more than a hundred kms a week, all the best.
