A winter record (for me)

The weather was good. I was able to scrape myself out of bed. This combined for a great weekend. On our way home we got monochrome sky, silos and ground for the monthly challenge as seen above and below. Check out the rest of our ride (hallelujah!) here.

Nerdy chick in Australia who loves to ride and is accompanied by the crew: 'The Commander' Verne and the 'Mental Health Specialist' Kermit.

Thanks, Bill. So happy to have scraped myself out of bed!

Thank you, also, for the link on your page 🙂

Great you were able to get out for an overnight — beautiful photos, and a great read.
Sending all the good juju I can muster that they can find the diagnosis you are seeking and positive results are quick in coming.

Great to see you out, Em. You make early winter look like a pretty attractive time to ride over there. And thanks for introducing us to more of your unique names – I especially like Old Howlong Road.

Best of luck with your rheumatologist. We’ll be thinking of you.

Winter temps are good, but it can be pretty wet, and windy at times, too. QLD, NT or northern WA would be better this time of year. Some years I do more miles in the depths of winter (June, July) than the depths of summer (Jan, Feb). Winter is just cool and wet while summers are hotter than hades.

Overnight…good for you! I haven’t had the opportunity to do anything but day rides since 2015.

I suppose different times in life are more conducive to different types of riding. I hope you will one day again be able to do some overnight rides or short tours. I would be out there almost every weekend if my health allowed – hopefully, I can get some medication that will allow me to do more again!
