An interesting new thing to me

After our lunch stop we were about to remount our bike when I spotted something new on the fence we are always passing when we are on this trail ride.

I have never seen one of these before, and wonder if anyone else has.

I cannot help but wonder what cigarette butts can be recycled into. How many are needed to become something else? This being the only one I have ever seen, and having maybe half a dozen butts inside make me wonder how long before there are enough. And what is enough?

I may have guessed I could count on you to find out the information. And at first I was actually wondering if this was some kind of a joke. So thank you Rich for finding this site and sharing it here. Now, even though I do not smoke, I will have my eye out for these containers to see if we have more about.
AND — the components can be used to make BRICKS! The things we learn here.

        You are welcome!
What appears to be a lock at the bottom of the container made me think this could be a real deal.
As I typed in Cigarette Butt Recycling, Bing already had it. Surprised me!
Processing all those butts has to be a Mike Rowe type Dirt Job!

Gives smokers a good conscience, I guess. With every cig they can do a good deed.
