Andy Lopez Park

The temperature was in the 30’s (Fahrenheit) this morning, but it was expected to warm up and the forecast called for rain starting around noon.

Inspired by recent news about an incident from five years ago, I bundled up and headed down to Andy’s park, with a couple of detours along the way to look for walls. After capturing a few walls and paying my respects to Andy, I started back toward home (the long way around) amid intermittent sprinkles. I stopped to put on my rain jacket, but made it back across town without getting too damp.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

Very good of you to honor Andy’s memory and Memorial. Thank you.

Several interesting walls/murals — no idea who Edward Hopper was, now I do — (TY Wikipedia) — my knowledge of art doesnt extend much beyond manila paper and box of crayons.

Quite a story Bill. Good that you paid a visit in respect for Andy. Something that NEVER should have happened as I do (mostly) believe that a person could be “winged” rather than shot at seven times with four of those bullets entering his back!!!!!!!

Great walls you found as well.

Love all the walls but most of a.. love the tribute to Andy. What a sad and horrible story of our times.

That’s one sad tale. It reminded me of the Australian woman living in Minneapolis who was shot while reporting a disturbance outside her home in 2017.

I find it worrying that the Gun Lobby are casting their eyes Australia-wards – certain politicians here are running the idea that if everyone was armed we would be safer. So far they are not winning and hopefully they will be booted out at next years election.
