August Challenge — Food Detritus

Orange peel segments

Discarded pizza crust

While photographing the pizza crust, I noticed a pick up approaching the bridge I had just crossed, moving very slowly.

It stopped at the bridge, guy gets out carrying a grocery type bag, and carefully drops it along the stream bank.  He passes by me, smile and a wave, and off he goes.

I reached my turn around point and headed back the way I came, curious as to what he had dropped.

I soon found out — not entirely sure of all the contents, potatoes, carrots, and celery? and who knows what else.

A whiff of the putrid stuff came up to bridge deck level, and it was enough to gag a maggot.

I’m guessing he had a refrigerator or freezer failure, but, sheese!  Bury it someplace!!Carry out container with a few morsels left in it

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

That all sounds kinda yuk. Although the bag contents, sounds like it should be in compost!

Hmmm… litterers at their worst! Fun finds for you.

Some people have no shame. There must be a special place in hell for litterers. It’s right next to the people who don’t pick up their dog’s poop, I think.
