BEFORE AND AFTER: June 29
In Case You’re Counting Down, This Is The Second Last Day Of My Arduous Journey Through Beforeandafterville
I was a little worried this morning. Thunderstorms have been rolling through MY Town since about nine o’clock last evening and are likely to continue almost all day. That’s okay by me. I really like thunder and lightning and rain, and those things wouldn’t stop me from taking at least a short bike ride. (Unless it was torrential rain, cloud-to-ground lightning strikes, or a tornado.) The thing that worried me is that I need to take an “After” picture for my Before & After project and I don’t like to subject my phone to excessive water exposure. A few years back, I couldn’t use my Blackberry for three days after getting it wet.
Somewhere around 11:00 a.m., the rain let up enough for me to don my rain jacket and hope for some good luck. I already knew the “before” picture I wanted to re-create so I didn’t need a lot of time — maybe a half-hour.
The ride was magical. The rain had reduced to nothing more than a sprinkle, yet the thunder continued to roll in the distance. Thunder is wonderful. Ground shaking thunder is thunderful. I had a nice mix of wonderful and thunderful before my ride was done. But I got my pictures.

Before the next round of heavy rain broke out, I managed to get in one more photo opportunity.

Glad The weather behaved for you! I hope you didn’t finish off the whole growler while writing this post.
While I have been known to drink a whole growler in one day by myself, I only drank about half of it this time. Pretty good self-restraint if I do say so myself. There was more celebrating today after the grand finale though.
Very clever – I remember posing Verne and Kermit in Lewis and Clark poses when I came across some of those signs. And good on you for riding in thunder. I am not scared of many things, but I am definitely afraid of lightning. Good to see even little MY TOWN has a brewery.
Definitely got a winery, we spent some time at Brown Brothers many years ago.
