Challenge of the Month: Go Green

We don’t have a lot of colorful walls, or even interesting walls in these parts, not that I have been able to discover so far anyway. But we have lots of green and green’s my theme.

I have a new toy – I got an action cam second-hand on ebay. Rachael Anderson’s videos over on CycleBlaze inspired me, as well as some pedaling photographers on Flickr, and I decided the minimalist dimensions of a GoPro wouldn’t add too much bulk to my panniers. For a start I didn’t take a video but stills. I love the wide angle of the lens and the interesting points of view you can get while riding. Along with the camera I got a lot of extras: I can attach the camera to my handlebars, my head, my helmet, my chest, my wrist, a selfie-stick, a tripod … Today I tried it on my wrist and shot while riding – I had to get the bicycle in the picture, too, you know.

More details if you are interested in the camera settings: burst mode taking one picture a second (I select about 10% afterwards) and wide angle. So here you go, I think most of these can qualify for green monochrome.

I took this one after I got off my bike – obviously.

Wonderfully green! And what a nice toy to have gotten for yourself. I am not familiar with that cam but am sure you will be posting even more spectacular photos for us ;’-)

They make for pleasant, easy going riding, not on the adventurous or exciting side though.

We have lots of greens, but few as beautiful as where you are.
Lots of greens, as long as you like lots of corn and soybeans!

We have some corn and soy beans too, but we can’t compete with you!

Wow! A new camera with lots of things to play with! That’s so neat. My new camera is almost a month old and it has only left my residence once. Green is a great color.

Excellent and such inviting shots. I do miss deciduous woodland on occasion. Hope you have lots of fun playing with the new camera.
