Children at Play

Just trying to think how to link today’s ride with our challenge of the month. On our ride through the forest we saw some interesting sculptures. No, actually I don’t think children had anything to do with them unless they were created for their entertainment. These interesting wood sculptures, made with a chain saw, are still connected to the tree stump from which they were carved. I hope that kids weren’t messing around with chainsaws, but I think they might be amused by these whimsical tree stump creations.

The sculpture at the top of the page looks like it is being used as a bird feeder, although I’m not sure birds in the middle of the forest need a feeder. Who knows, anyway there were seeds on it. Janos had discovered it on an earlier ride and wanted to show it to me.

We had discovered this little chair back in June.

This one and the previous picture were both new to us today.

Oh my gosh!! These are terrific. How nice to come across these on a whimsical bike ride. With a couple of them being new to you, it seems a work in progress.

Someone is very talented with a chain saw — those are quite something!

I found out who the artist is – Johannes Unland from Murnau, where he has a school for chainsaw work in forestry and creative carving!

Kermit wants his photo with the little house. What a nice treat to discover on your ride!
