CLC #6 in Leavenworth

That’s Leavenworth Washington, not the other one in Kansas, We are spending some time in this Bavarian themed town in eastern Washington for Susan to take a course in fly tying. This is about a two hour drive from home and the course is one evening a week, over a five week time. This is the 4th week and we are staying a bit longer this week and next week.

Our bike ride today took us to Sleeping Lady resort where we took in some of the outdoor art and where I made my purchase.

There is some snow remaining in the mountains that surround the town, but the ground snow has all but melted.

Nice, quiet back roads to ride our bike on to the resort.

There is gift shop at the resort and at O’Grady’s grill. We checked out both of them and found a new journal for keeping track of our adventures with our NEW RV Camper Van. It is so new that it is not built yet and it could be up to six months before we have it. We are hoping for sooner of course, and may get it by mid-summer (fingers crossed),

We enjoyed more country-like riding before re-entering the tourist town and our condo. Actually is it Susan’s Sister’s condo and we are able to stay there each time we are in town as she uses it only part of the time.

Pear orchard is bare but will be fruit full in not too very long.

We had a delightful sunny day with temps somewhere in the high 50s. So perfect ;’-)

Looks like a beautiful place to ride your bike! I wonder where your wanderlust will take you once you have your new camper van. So exciting!

Beautiful area.Best riding is outside of town as there is a lot of traffic on the main highway through town. We did the short loop that skirts town on quiet roads. We are looking forward to some nice adventuring ;’-)

That is quite a resort! Looking at the web site — Sleeping Lady Mountain in the background of several photos.
    The Camper Van sounds great!
Santa Rosa has some competition for colorful fish.

Sleeping Lady is indeed quite the resort. Beyond my budget, but nice to bike around some of the grounds and visit the gift shop ;’-)

Looks like a very nice place to ride and very scenic with a bit of snow lingering in the shade and up high. It’s always nice to get away for a day or two and refresh.

These are the final days for the low lying snow. Snow (glaciers) will remain in the high mountains for most of the time.

That’s such a great area over there. I keep thinking of wrapping it into a tour sometime, but then I look at the roads through Stevens Pass and think again. Some year we should just drive up that way and make an east side loop.

It is a nice area. There is not a lot of biking in the town, but this week (weather permitting) we plan to do a loop to Cashmere and back. There is also the possibility to ride from Leavenworth to Wenatchee for about 50 miles (round trip), or from Cahsmere for 25ish mile round trip. Back roads avoid MOST of the hghway,
