CLC ON HOLD FOR ME

With every thing now closed, except for grocery, pharmacy and take out windows, and (I can only guess) soon asking for older people like me to isolate ourselves, local purchases will not be possible for a while. I will self-postpone this challenge for when we come out on the other side of this scourge.

Though there are a few states have closed down their state parks, we here in Washington still have those available to us. For how long, who knows. So we have once again taken ourselves to enjoy some distancing from everything (people and hourly news media) at Fort Casey State Park on Whidbey Island.

Camping offers us quite the respite and I am so hopeful that it will continue to be available to us. That is not meant as a complaint against anything we end up being mandated to do (or not do) as this is a global issue that impacts many in such a dire way. My thoughts go out to them with hope for all.

In the campground here, the only WiFi I have is from the HotSpot on my phone. That makes posting photos extremely slow, so I will not post more now. I will work on blogging this outing, but not sure when that will be available either.

Everyone please take care as best we can, we are all in this together.

Fondly, and thoughtfully,

Nancy

Honestly, I cannot think of a better place to be in these troubled times than at a campsite. Good for you. And nice picture too–even if it took, like, 20 minutes to upload it.

Yes, that is a wonderful picture and a campsite (without wifi) is the best place to be.
Btw it is not mandatory that you buy something on your ride. You can also take something from home for the CLC challenge. I believe the Goddess said so. But maybe you just don’t feel like doing the challenge these days. I can understand that. I, too, have not embarked on my theme.

Enjoy your camping trip!! A perfect spot and a perfect idea for the latest continual theme of self-isolation. Stay healthy & happy.

I like that photo! What a beautiful spot to spend some time in.
Crummy weather here, plus a few other things have limited any cycling, CLC or not.

Plus, people here are going semi-bonkers over the Covid-19 thing.
Tomorrow afternoon sounds promising for a ride — might go to Casey’s and see what I can pick up. 😉

    Bad joke, sorry!! 🙂

Looks like a pretty beautiful place to ‘shelter in place’ or social distance or whatever else is recommended. Enjoy! Please post a link to your blog once you’ve written up your trip 🙂

Thanks everyone for your replies here. I haven’t had time, or sometimes means, to reply to each, but I appreciate all your comments. ;’-)
We feel fortunate that our state parks here have not (yet at least) been closed and we can do a few ‘distancing’ trips in our RV. I am not sure I feel up to doing the CLC this year — may add too much stress for me. If that feeling changes I will try Suzanne’s suggestion of bringing something from home. That’s may end up being a good purpose for a ride ;’-)
Take care all and keep posting things your do as that will be a good way for us to maintain social contact.
Though I have not yet posted this trip in my blog, this is where it will be—-https://adventureswithnancyg.blogspot.com

    Dearest,
What a wonderful place to hole up. As of this writing our California state campgrounds are closed but most of the parks remain open. Problem is, everyone’s going to the popular places and things are getting crowded. Oy.
No need to make a purchase this year due to circumstances.

So far Washington has not closed the state parks, but they seem to be filling up more now. We appreciate being able to take advantage of some of these campgrounds and will work at doing more of that.
I have 5 CLC outings somewhat planned, but will need to get even more creative if I think I can get to the 7!! Thank you for the reprieve ;’-) for this year. I wish nothing more than to learn at the end of this, that I am being over cautious. Everyone take the best care you know.
