CLC Ride 5

John Deere Foundry from years ago — older JD equipment most likely has parts cast here

Long abandoned — nothing to purchase here

Destination on the far NW side of town

Purchase completed  🙂

No purchase here 🙁

Scenic Route Home @ North Fork River/7th Street

Yikes!!!  Photo looks like me!

Proof of Purchase

Gen-U-Wine Briggs and Stratton spark plugs

Time for getting mowers ready for the season

Gigantic Crocuses dwarf my bicycle — can you find it?

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

Rich, since you went all the way up Dixie Highway to Olympic Hardware, you could have stopped at Anthem Chevrolet to make your purchase. I’m thinking a new Chevy truck would have been just about right to qualify for the challenge. PS: Now that we have your mug shot on file, I’m forwarding it to the sheriff’s office, just in case they need to print up some wanted posters. 😉

You know, I had that same thought — beautiful Silverado I rode past.
Sheriff Pat sorta knows me, we have met at the Court House. 😉

      (D*** Jury Duty, actually)

        “Jury Duty.” Good one.

Nice pic of you, the Raleigh, and the country road. I think this really is the first time we’ve gotten a look at you.

And if you and I are brave enough to post photos of ourselves at the risk of being tracked down by the authorities via facial recognition AI algorithms, Rich should have no qualms in that regard, because the sheriff already knows his whereabouts.

            So true, Bill, so true.

          It is.
I hesitated because I didnt want to frighten small children and puppies. 🙂
More to come in a very amateurish video for the April Challenge.
          You have been warned! 🙂

Thanks, Greg! Mid 80’s Raleigh I bought used in the 90’s.

Good photo of you and your steed Rich. I will look forward to the video ;’-)

Also — a good purchase for the challenge. Aren’t we all creative!

      Thanks! Video is about ready. . . . .

We have those Crocuses plants popping up here in spring too, they’re tough alright. Geee…You look like a pretty handsome dude and maybe CLC ride 6 might be a new car, that would top any other challenge purchase by far and give you Cyclelife 365 legendary status.

      Thanks, but. . . . . .
Not sure about any of that, except the crocuses are tough. 🙂
The price of a new Chevrolet Silverado should cover all 7 rides for years to come!
