CLC2018, Ride 6: Southbound Train

We missed a series of big storms around here while we were wandering through the desert. We returned to unseasonably warm weather, quite pleasant for bicycling. With not much else on the agenda today, I decided to take the SMART train down to Marin county and pedal around some fairly familiar locales, stitching together parts of a solo ride around Hamilton Field, a ride near the Civic Center with Bud, and a ride through China Camp with Jeff. I almost continued through the Larkspur Tunnel to include part of a ride I did with Mary, but I was afraid I wouldn’t finish in time to catch the northbound train I wanted.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

Hi Bill, I enjoyed your Marin ride – great pics inspite of iphone. My sister lived in San Rafael so I was there often.
I tried to use the contact link on your website but it only opens a new tab on my pc. But I see that other people have been able to comment on your site. Hmm – is it something with my computer or has something changed on your website? ~Suzanne

Hi Bill. After reading Suzanne’s comment re ability to comment on your website I clicked the link to see what happens. My Mail system fires up and readies itself to send you an email. I didn’t progress it ‘cos I can Comment here.

I like this idea of catching a train and then riding to another train catching point. We have no passenger trains in Tassie so it doesn’t work here more’s the pity. Oscar sometimes sleeps in the sun on his back, on top of his kennel, so that’s our “Snoopy”.

    Hi Tony,

When the train started running last year, it helped open up some fresh bicycling options in Marin. No longer need to drive to the start or worry about where to leave the car. And the train serves beer and wine for the trip home. 🙂

As to the website “mailto” link, I sent a long techie explanation to Suzanne by email. The issue is almost certainly with her browser configuration.

Give Oscar a belly rub for the cycle365 gang!
