Cycle Days Challenge: August 2020

Still summer, but not for long
Our last real summer month, August, has passed way too fast. September ceratinly has some lovely days in store for us, but the days are getting shorter and the evenings are cooler, there is no denying it.
Here’s the link to the August edition of my bike rides.

The award for “Greg’s Favorite Suzanne Picture” for the month of August goes to . . . The one with whatever those things are that look like pumpkins.
Thanks Greg, I always look forward to your choice of the best picture! Yes, of course they are pumpkins. The Germans like everything American, at least they used to. I think they still like pumpkins.
They looked like pumpkins, but they also looked different than Minnesota pumpkins, though I can’t really explain WHY they look different. I thought they might possibly be gigantic orange gourds or something. Must be that German soil.
Greg, what I meant to say is that other orange things aren’t so popular. I didn’t word that well.
Suzanne, great photos as always. I sympathize with your disappointment on your August mileage. Same happened to me. In fact, almost exactly the same. I rode 316 miles in August, which if I did the math correctly is right around 508 km. August is usually one of my bigger months, but not this year.
Thanks, Bob! Let’s hope we have good weather and get another chance in September!
Well, I don’t know, 315 miles is around 10 miles a day on average, not too shabby!
Great photos as always, the road leading up to the two trees especially.
Maybe another 6 or so weeks of decent riding weather here . . . . lets hope!
Thanks, Rich! I am always thinking what I do isn’t enough – you made me feel better, really!
Those pumpkins look great, but the selfie is greater. A beautiful shot!
So kind of you, Scott!
Lovely pics that really capture the moods of August. I’m sorry for you that you didn’t achieve what you’d hoped for the month, but some months are just like that. I had a horrid month for riding in August, too – waaaay too much work and way too little energy. Some months are just like that. Maybe September will surprise you with an overabundance of warm and calm early autumn days. All the best!
Glad you liked the pictures, Em! Hope you have a better month, too!
Photos delightful and elegant, as always.
I always, as everyone else, love every one of your photos. So very hard to impossible to choose a favorite. But that distance one of the rider (Janos I assume) riding up the hill to the trees is rather striking. (Photo #5 I believe).
Yes, that is Janos. He usually wants me to be in his picture, especially if I am wearing a red jacket, so I seldom have him as a point of interest. Besides he doesn’t wear photogenic red!
