Cycle Days Challenge – July

What to say about July? Another month here and gone. We got two overnight rides in, testing to see how fit are we this summer. Nothing sensational, but still fit to ride with paniers and sleep in guest house beds.

As we get older, the problem isn’t necessarily the pedaling itself…

You are no ‘wimp’ but/and I know just how you feel. This aging stuff?! !! This week I went with a gal at least 23 yrs younger than me to photo shoot in Big Sur. We got to the place she wanted to share with me and I couldn’t do the trail down to the beach. It was soooooo steep I just stood at the top and knew if – big if I made it down there was no way I would get back up. The first time in my life I didn’t do something because I knew I couldn’t because of my current ability. So we went and did a much easier trail that was also beautiful but not dramatic!

But hey we are still out there when most in the 70’s are NOT!!

It’s good to know I’m not alone with this… and we’re still out there. I guess that’s what counts. But still…

Old? Im only 27 — oh, wait, dyslexia just kicked in again. 😉
Great you are still doing overnights and longer tours — photos are amazing as always.
We’ve lost a good hour of sunlight — limits evening riding time.

In German you say zweiundsiebzig, two and seventy, so 27 makes total sense. But 97 is not a good alternative to 79. I don’t mind the numbers, just the dwindling energy.

You are awesome Suzanne. And age does not stop you for a moment! Love your July photo journal.

Looks like you two aren’t letting any grass grow under your feet this summer. Great post!

Thanks, Laura! We are going to give it a try again this summer, let’s see how far we get.

Absolutely lovely photos! And you are no wuss… I have very few relatives who even made it to 79 and none that were out on bikes at that point in their lives. You are amazing, and your willingness to learn new tech (the go-pro, etc) when it wasn’t something you would have grown up with is inspiring!
