CYCLE LIFE CHALLENGE #4: A Foggy Ride Is Suicide

We’re riding once again, we’re in a fix.

We need seven rides by March 26.

We cycled out into the hazy fog.
For today’s installment of this hi-jacked blog.

We used to live like poor, poor peasants,
Now we’ve got money to buy some presents.

My present today is green pepper and provolone.
I’ll make Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches when we get home.

But we much prefer waterfalls,
To grocery stores and shopping malls.

The falls are huge from the swollen river,
For scenic beauty, these falls deliver.

The Vermillion River, further downstream.
Don’t dive in, Doris, that’s too extreme!

Oh no! He’s stalking us.
Oh no! He’s mocking us.

Oh, raging mini-flood,
Please wash away Gregblood.

Hi. My name is Greg and I ride my bike a lot. That is to say, I ride my bike almost every day. I go on long rides and short rides. Sunny rides, cloudy rides, and rainy rides. I like commuting, errand-running, day-tripping, overnighting, and touring on my bike. I ride on city streets, highways, gravel, single track, and snow with equal enthusiasm. Sometimes I ride fast and sometimes I ride slow. I try to keep my feet on the pedals at stop lights and I do not dismount when I hop up on a curb. I have a roadie bike, a mountain bike and a touring bike. I try to accept any challenge a bike ride can throw at me without complaint. But I don't like bugs.

Well, G-2, I think Greg could learn some photography skills from you. Those are really nice pictures. But I don’t know about your ear for rhyming – provolone and home? 😀

I know it was a bad rhyme. I like to think of it as “poetic license.”

Hey,I was going to comment on that but you beat me to it! Maybe those midwesterners don’t know how to pronounce provolone though.

Say, did I miss something? Why do you need to be done by the 26th? No wonder you’re keeping pace with me (I’ve done my 4th one also, but haven’t posted it yet because I like to keep folks in suspense) – I have to be done by then also.

I wish I could say I had to finish up before I went on a bike tour in Italy, but the reality is that a Judge ordered me to return Greg’s account to him by that date. Apparently he wants to write up some bike rides of his own.

Or is it ‘home’ that is pronounced incorrectly?

Enjoying your trips and photos G-2.

We do pronounce things funny in the Midwest, but really, I knew the home/provolone rhyme was a bit of a cheat. I just didn’t think anybody would notice.

    Nice photos of the waterfall.

So you are a poet, too, G2! I see the snow is starting to melt, too. I hope you are laminated.
