Cycling Days With Victoria – Days 11, 12,13

Day 11 May 6,2018
Took this the day we got back from our 9-day ride in Lower Bavaria, and didn’t feel like riding far. An annual Munich Street Festival was taking place and we had a look around.
For the shot I placed my bike next to the news stands. Abi Ofarim’s death at the age of 80 is in the news. I don’t kow how well known he was internationally, but he was a big hit in the 60’s here. In his last years he opened a cafe, “Kinder von Gestern/Yesterday’s Children”, as a meeting place for the lonely and old, not far from our apartment. We walked by one day and Janos said, hey, that’s Abi Ofarim in there. We went in and he told us about his project.

Day 12 May 8, 2018
Bicycle and pedestrian underpass, Olympic Park, Munich
We were on our way to the Botanical Garden, a pleasant ride with no traffic.

Day 13 May 9, 2018
In Munich’s English Garden
Since we live in an apartment and don’t have a garden of our own, we sometimes get on our bikes and bring a picnic to a local beer garden. To Aumeister it’s about 15 km round trip.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Beautiful photo in the English Garden. Where are all the hills? We should try this sometime.
