December Challenge: another wall

This past weekend was the annual ‘Holiday event’ for our little informal biking group of friendfs and we had, once again, a fine time. We did a different ride this year that involved a ferry ride from Fort Casey on Whidbey Island to Port Townsend. After about a mile of riding we connected with the Larry Scott trail.

The trail is unpaved but very hard packed for any kind of bike tire to be comfortable. The Scott trail does not yet actually hook up with the ODT, but that is the intent sometime in the future. Eight of us enjoyed the ride through the forest and peacefulness of the morning.

Before the trail started I spotted this wall and had to stop.

    That IS a great mural!
    Nice ride with your friends.
Was Larry an avid cyclist or/an advocate for bicycle trails?
I see tons of info on the Trail, nothing so far about Larry.

I really like the mural as well.
From what little I know, Larry Scott was an acid cyclist. I don’t know why the trail is named for him, but it is really a nice ride.
