Hot and dry

After several days buried in an all-consuming computer project with no time for or thought of anything else (including keeping up with Cycle365), today I managed to escape for a quick jaunt out the Greenway. Sonoma County is hot and dry—see photo of waterless Brush Creek—and we are poised to have Pacific Gas & Electric shut down much of the electricity in the county due to forecast of conditions (high temperature, strong winds, low humidity) likely to cause power lines to spark wildfires.

I see in the PD that the PSPS has been cancelled for tonight for the North Bay area.
Some foothill counties are already shut off.
Gives a person pause to think of the consequences of no power for as long as the weather event lasts, and then an addtional 24 to 48 hours to get the power restored.

Still, far better than the other possible consequence!
