I Just Couldn’t Contain Myself

A container is any receptacle or enclosure for holding a product used in storage, packaging, and shipping.[1] Things kept inside of a container are protected by being inside of its structure. The term is most frequently applied to devices made from materials that are durable and are usually at least partly rigid.

That said, (thanks Wiki) I went off riding looking for containers

Not included are items of discard along the roadside

Fuel tanks at the school — diesel in the background, propane in the foreground

A few buses run on propane

Water bottle contains needed hydration fluid

Seat bag contains stuff you hope you won’t need — such as tires continuing to contain air

Barrels now used for trash containers

More refuse containers

Contains electrical entrance

Container gardening tomatoes

Fence contains dog — nice dog, actually

The ubiquitous trash tote  — which should be contained in the garage

Containers with impatiens

Homemade mechanics roller stool — staying seated in the exact middle is highly recommended

Storage containers

Contains our water supply

That’s the old fire bell from eons ago

Contains fuel for city vehicles

Another useful container

Saves running over to the Dollar General

Contains oil for township road repair

It would be interesting to see what sorts of containers might be in your part of the world

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

I love this post Rich! I imagine we have much the same containers near here as you have there, but I will work on a collection to share with you. It may take a while to collect containers.

Very nice, but just a bit disappointing. I kept hoping to find a box tortoise in here.

Very nice, Rich, but I was disappointed to miss Billie Jo, Bobbi Jo, and Betty Jo up on the water tower.

      They must be Social Distancing . . . . . or changing their Mask-era. 🙂

I recognize the 55-gallon drums from my days in the paint industry, but I was disappointed not to see gallons, and five-gallon pails. Hey, what is that character on the water tower? It’s almost as cute as any of Uncle Joe’s nieces.

Nice collection of containers! That is one good thing about water towers in the midwest – when you are out in the middle of nowhere riding and see one, you know you are close to a town and maybe a toilet break and water refill stop.

I’m going to have to get out of my box.
