I Stopped to See The Weeping Willow…

I know that others (Rich) have posted this tree, but I could not resist stopping for it yesterday. I was with twelve close friends on a leisurely ride and cannot often stop for photos on a group ride. But I was sweep for this part or the ride and knew I would have no problem catching up.

The cool weather, my group of friends, and the great ride up north near the town of Lynden made for what I think was a Perfect Day!

I love Weeping Willows, and that could be because we had one in our front yard all through my growing up years. I made what we then called a “tree house” in it. That meant a flat board wedged in the thick limbs and a line tied to a pail to lift treats or my lunch when I was up there (not very high up there). Halcyon days of youth.

Sue stuck a stick in the ground when we lived at Franklin, southern Tas. It grew and should be a weeping willow by now. Next time we are down that way I am reminded to get a picture. They are very attractive trees.

I will love to see a picture of it and see how it has grown, and how long ago it was “planted”.
