I would say it’s wood color

We went on a little two-day tour from home, no trains, no planes, no city streets involved, just cycled from the front door. As soon as I get caught up, I hope to post a few pictures. For the time being, I’ll just stick to near to monosyllabic monochrome.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. I have three kids and eight grandchildren - so I'm pretty old. Cycling, photography and walking are my favorite things.

That is some tightly packed wood! The Incas would be pleased.
And split into approximately equal sizes too — Impressive!

It looks pretty impressive alright, until you consider that’s just the way trees grow in Bavaria. I’m sure Suzanne will concur.

Probably packed in round bundles for transport and sale. Perhaps not done manually?

Interesting that the wood appears to be packed in round ‘things’. NIce photo of wood color I would say. ;’-)

As I replied to Rich, Probably packed in round bundles for transport and sale.

If it’s not for sale, someone is definitely thinking they are going to have a bad winter. My material grandparents lived in a house whose only heat source in winter was a wood stove in the living/bedroom and a wood cook stove in the kitchen, so they always had a big wood pile, but nothing compared to this one. Look forward to hearing about your short trip.

🙂 Remember when there was a crayon color called “skin”? Itwas kind of a pink caucasion skin color.
