Great to see a slight loosening of restrictions, so you can do some old favs.

No, don’t think anyone has used that video yet, but it did come to mind earlier. However, I’d used it back when ol’ #45 got elected so I didn’t want to use again. I definitely think some things will permanently change once the virus is brought under control, but hopefully it is not the end of the world….

Glad you could back out on the greenway! Great choice of music.

Nice smile, er umm, nice bandana. I’m sure your smile was under there somewhere. Hoping the easing of restrictions goes well for California and without repercussions. Stay healthy & happy pedaling.

Hoping the easing of restrictions goes well for California

In California, Sonoma is one of the few counties to close its parks, beaches, and paths. Sonoma County’s limited reopening of parks and paths (“Beaches still closed! No driving to parks!”) is a happy step for me, but not much use to all the folks who can’t walk or bike to a park.

Meanwhile, the lockdown for California as a whole — including Sonoma County — continues, with all non-essential businesses closed (at least in theory), no non-essential travel (lots of scofflaws on that one), etc. In addition, apparently the governor is on the verge of closing all beaches in the state due to surge of non-distancing visitors as the weather is warming up. Of course, Sonoma County’s beaches are already closed and remain that way.

Thus, we continue to inhabit uncharted territory, wrapped in protective masks. But at least my bicycling horizons have expanded compared to last week.

What’s the situation in Oregon these days?

Our governor is slowly opening up some things too. I hope it has nothing to do with the hordes of right-wing nut jobs with their “Make America Great Again” signs who protested in front of the governor’s residence last week. As always, those folks show up to protest a specific issue, but the REAL reason always seems to be to show off their guns and their 2nd Amendment banners.

I don’t want anybody to get this virus, yet I can also sympathize with the idea of saving businesses from going under. It’s a tough situation. But it takes a special kind of idiot to turn Covid-19 into a gun debate.

Yes, saw them on the News here. Always a good news subject when they come out to dictate. They reminded me of Boy Soldiers – young unformed minds with big guns in big black trucks. Scary.

Good news Bill. I guess because in Sonoma people can’t drive to the parks it must make it better for cyclists. And it looks like the weather isn’t too shabby either.
