I’ve Been Warned!

Warning!  The Equinox is just a few days away  — sun is rapidly moving southward

Im staying on this side of the fence!

(Mercaptan is used to put the odor in natural gas)

No digging without JULIE’s permission

Sharp turns where townships meet

(At 8 mph not a serious problem)

Seems to be a lot of gas pipelines in this area

That IS a problem — 2 miles of loose skittish gravel

Telephone cable along here

Time to call JULIE again before digging

Natural Gas – Smoking and carrying of lighting materials is forbidden, Hard Hats and eye protection required – Keep Out!!

This is a significant natural gas regulation installation

Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative power station

Zap!  No Thanks!

Fiber Optic Cable along here

Western Flyer might be 40 Pounds?

Culvert – Don’t drive off pavement

No Guns!

We have all had enough!  I will!

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

    Guns welcome…only in America.

Quite the collection of warnings Rich. This would make a good challenge I think. I have seen that ‘guns welcome’ sign somewhere (not here near my home, and hopefully not in my state!) and thought I might not like going into such a place ;’-0. Can’t help but wonder — is JULIE an actual person you call before digging, or is that an acronym for something?
    Nice post.

Thanks — there are lots of Warning signs all around! Those were within a 6 mile ride Out and Back.

I wondered the same thing when I first saw anything about JULIE —
“JULIE stands for Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators”
The individual utilities mark where their lines are so anyone digging doesnt hit them.

Cool! Enjoyed the video — will sign off for now. 😉

Hoping for clear skies here too — not as much wiggle room day wise this time as the sun is moving far more quickly than at the solstice.

It will be a good alignment if we can pull it off — bicycle aligned with road and the setting/rising sun.

Warm weather and clear skies coming up here in Minnesota. I shouldn’t have to resort to creating my own paper sunset. I might, however, have to buy a squirt gun so I can use “judicious marksmanship” to keep myself cool.

I am warned! Not sure where I will go for the picture, though. Too far in the evening means riding home in the dark and I haven’t found a good morning view to the east …
