Jack London’s Ogre

The October fires shut down all of my favorite parks in Sonoma County, and most remain partly or completely closed. Although both sides of the access road to Jack London State Historical Park above Glen Ellen were seriously burned, and the ashes of several incinerated homes provide mute testimony to how close the blaze came, the park itself escaped unscathed and recently reopened. Because so many parks are closed, Jack London has been especially busy. Yesterday I hiked to the summit with my ace support crew and another couple. It’s a steep ascent, but I decided to give it a shot today on the Ogre.

Thanks for the nice compliment! I like his saturated colors and kind of classical scenes. Apparently he was very popular. I know my maternal grandmother had at least one of his prints on the wall. She probably cut it out of a magazine. 😉
