JUST GOT ON MY BIKE

I know that Laura says her post is not meant as a challenge for everyone, but just for herself. But once presented with ANY challenge I am hard put to ignore it ;’-).

So, I got on my bike yesterday. My original plan was to simply have a solo ride around my neighborhood. BUT —- my cycling buddy Cindy was free for the day and wanted to ride. YAY! I rode the six miles from my house to meet up with her for our adventure. It was a simple ride and such fun with such a warm and wonderful friend.

We came upon this wonderful sight…

Such a better idea than carving your sentiments in the trunk of trees. I would love it if this caught on ;-). I dub this as “Trees of Hearts Road”.

We made a stop for lunch just past the halfway point of my ride from home. A few sun breaks made their way through mostly clouded sky, and we were pleased to have … no rain ;’-). A fantastic day — everyone should have a friend like Cindy.

How nice that Laura’s challenge resutled in such a good ride for you! And a post here! No rain – wow!

No rain here is indeed time for celebration. ;’-)

What a sweet idea with the hearts attached to the tree, instead of being carved. I guess it’s sort of akin to people who lock padlocks to a bridge rail for love or something? A gentle public proclamation of love or a sense of “I was here.” The “Tree of Hearts” road is a lovely name for it. Cheers & happy pedaling.

I thought the same thing about the locked padlocks I have seen in many places — including in Nice, France.

I happy that you like my name fro the road Hopkins.

Everyone should have a friend as sweet as Nancy, too! It’s just too bad we live so far apart. I may be huffing and puffing to keep up with you, but I know I’d enjoy the ride.

Before I’d scrolled past the picture to read your comment, my thought was the same…much better for the trees. Love the idea.

What a sweet thing to say Laura. I would love it if we lived close to each other to enjoy some riding together. You would NOT be huffing and puffing to keep up with me ;’-0. I was huffing and puffing a bit today on the club ride “social pace” — again! When will I learn. I am writing my self a little essay about why club rides may just not be for me. I analyzed today’s ride all the way home afterward. I got quite a few ideas to put on paper, or on screen I guess.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment Laura.
