A warm October day, wow, I’ve never seen October weather like this. I hopped on my bike for a short ride, my goal today was Nymphenburg Palace. On a lovely Saturday there were plenty of people there. Janos didn’t want to get trampled and stayed home. But it wasn’t that bad. Behind the palace is a big park which has a central area that is modeled after the formal French gardens, and surrounding that is the English or informal part of the park, more like a walk in the woods.
First I locked up my bike since you are not allowed to take your bike on the park grounds. There were many bikes there.
Here you see the palace and the formal gardens.
There is a palm house and an old green house, which is not open to the public but I could peek in.
I then took a walk in the woods.
I remembered to look down and saw such nice mushrooms.
I didn’t like the looks of the busy park cafe and rode home, wondering where I was going to consume a beverage. If it hadn’t been a challenge ride, I would have just gone home. But today I cruised the neighborhood and stopped at a cafe that I had never frequented before, the Revolution Cafe. I had a glass of white wine and a plate of black olives, a perfect finish for my outing.
Altogether 14 km.
