Large Yellow Orb in the Sky

It was raining in Sonoma County when I arrived home from Arizona. Since then, it has rained every day. Sometimes downpours, sometimes showers. Until today. Finally warm, sunny, and dry. Naturally, I climbed on the Ogre to explore the Greenway. Santa Rosa Creek running fast and high, its banks strewn with tons of debris. Standing water in all the fields. Everything wet. Fresh snow on mountains in the distance. But there were also a few hopeful signs of springtime along the way. Plus, I snapped a picture of Santa Rosa Creek showing something I’ve never seen before in all my many years of riding out the Greenway and back.

Glad you got some sun! Enough water to kayak the creek – just don’t get floodwaters in any orifices or open cuts!

Snags. Floating debris. And you do NOT want to gargle with that stuff. I’ll stay on dry land with the Ogre. But it was fascinating to see kayaks out there for the first time, especially because Santa Rosa Creek is usually little more than a bare trickle.

Kayaks on Santa Rosa Creek? Astounding. Good for you for getting out on Ye Old Ogre.
