Long Haul Trucker? Nope Itsa Raleigh Olympian

No matter, I have a short way to go and a long time to get there

Raleigh ready to go

Raleigh meets up with Trek 930 at Dave’s

Large white doggie out for a morning sojourn

Ameren the electric utility ensures trees don’t interfere with service lines

Note the extension on the old old garage — as cars grew longer they were added

Another stubby example

Always a good idea

 (Or we will  . . . . . . .!!!)

Pedaling along to the tune of ……………

Raleigh returns home . . . . .

. . . . . . Just before the Small Dog Alert kicks in

Did I mention the Wind?

Hope this guy is ready!!!

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

In the old days, lots of rooms were added. My grandparents’ kitchen was an addition. The log cabin was built by a grandfather a few greats back, so have wondered what they used as a kitchen. Maybe another addition stood where the one I grew up with did. Always enjoy your posts.

Thanks! Enjoy the rides and posting them.
You have some great journals from your previous tours.

Not that I know, but it seems way back when there were no kitchens per se in pioneer type cabins?
Mostly cooking centered around the fireplace with pot(s) that would swing in and out over the fire?
Just trying to remember the historic cabins at Billie Creek Village at Rockville, Indiana.

      Interesting topic to investigate!

Smokey & the Bandit, Eastbound and Down…toe tappin’ tune! Looks like the person walking the big white doggie didn’t get the memo that summer isn’t here yet. Wearing shorts…Brrrr! But maybe it was warmer than the bare trees and dormant greenery seems to reveal. Good ride! Cheers & happy pedaling.

I remember having a Hot Wheels car as a kid that looked like that Smokey and the Bandit car! Your pics actually looked like early spring – something about the angle of the sun or something!

Love the old Smokey and the Bandit with a gorgeous Sally Field and classic Buford T Justice. One of my Fav movies.

Looks like it’s time for a “Gone with the Wind” tour! Ride as far as possible with the big tail wind, then have someone pick you up and drive you home. 😉

“a short way to go and a long time to get there” – my motto.
    That video is a hoot.
As for garage extensions – I know people who park in the street because their garage is now too narrow. Of course, Americans generally have more space and build on a larger scale than the Europeans, but still. Longer, wider, heavier, faster…
