March Challenge: Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White

I was 15 when this hit the charts. It was the obvious song for my picture.

But that was at the end of our ride on our way home. Let’s start at the beginning.

We had great weather again and I decided I wanted to meander on some of the little paths through the woods that we usually don’t take. To make it not altogether haphazard I made a track for my Garmin that would take us to Leutstetten through the woods instead of on the road that we usually take. I hadn’t expected much, just some more flat paths between firs and pines. But it wasn’t flat and there were no more conifers. It wasn’t mountainous, just lots of ups and downs on landforms left behind by glaciers. And quite lovely.

What a lovely trail, I look forward to seeing it in late spring, summer and fall, too.

There were a lot of people out enjoying social distancing.

The terrain provides some single-track riding down to the Würm, too.

Then the path opened up onto fields.

I love it when you come out of the woods and suddenly have a panorama view.

It was a short ride but full of new impressions, leaving us with a feeling of contentment. It feels kind of schizophrenic that our personal lives have changed so little when nothing is the same in the world about us.

We didn’t buy anything and didn’t even have a single new thing with us to count as a purchase. I guess I’ll have to start working on getting a few more CLC rides in.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

I, too, love it when you come out of the woods and have a panoramic view. But then, riding in the forest when there are no leaves isn’t so bad either. In the spring, trees aren’t such view blockers as they are in the summer. And the leafless trees you’ve shown are quite spectacular.

And that old big band video is pretty spectacular too,

It does feel strange being out on a beautiful day when the world is in chaos, doesn’t it’? I’m glad you’re out of the city and can escape so quickly. The two of you must be quite pleased about your decision to move.

Great video! This one is just before my time. I don’t remember hearing of Pérez Prado before. Those outfits!

I love that song too. Great to be out in the fresh air on a gorgeous day.

Very well said. No Covid 19 in our local area — yet — hoping it stays that way.

Beautiful path no matter what the season — enjoy and stay safe.

My grandfather was a trumpet player and would have loved that video. And that does look like a very lovely ride and one to do again and again. I love those glacial features in the panorama, too. Good to see it was warm enough for the mtn bikers to be wearing tshirts, too!
