MIA in Monterey

Where has the time gone lately?! We of course have been riding but/and we have had visits from kids and grandkids….visits up to other kids and grands. So, it seems summer is passing by very fast. Thank you all for your posts..seems a wonderful summer is in the making for all. The featured photo is me on my way out to a class…..photos in my beautiful portfolio made by our daughter. Keys and Pepsi in the other hand…..that’s how busy it’s been! Surly Girl (her official name) is getting a little adjustment. I needed to shorten the handle bar mount…..we short people have issues. Think we have it but………well you know how it is when you change one thing.

One of our recent “field office visits” Marina, CA. Going north more and more of late.
It’s our ‘mauve’ season. Beautiful buckwheat!! Ft. Ord State Reserve.

I had a photo workshop in Monterey on Sunday and look who is the star?! The guy to the left was the instructor. Scott Strazzante of the San Francisco Chronicle.
I took this at the workshop…..these two are a success story. Clean and sober now and have housing. They ride their bikes daily and know us as ‘Jack and Jill” They had no clue who I was w/o my bicycle….but then it clicked. Always hard to recognize folks w/o their gear.

Another trip to our fav “field office” the flowers are amazing right now.

From inside ‘field office’. A little out of focus…..busy!

Down to Trader Joe’s to shop…..meets monthly challenge!
Next few will be a beautiful new mural in Seaside……enjoy!

Amazing work. Love the fine out on the sidewalk.

That’s all folks…….

Janet here of Jack and Janet in Seaside, CA. We just love to ride our bikes and share and read stories from other such afflicted souls.

It’s always good to be busy with family and friends. Good to hear the success story of the couple on bikes – I hope they continue to go well. I love that mural, too!

We are so happy for them…..they were living on the street and not in good shape three years ago!! She has a wonderful smile!

Busy seems to be the word for most of us ;’-0. Looks to me like you are doing well in your photog class. I like the shot from inside the field office — fuzzy or not. That mural looks fantastic. Like most, I truly enjoy murals.

Nice looking portfolio — colors and pattern is great!
Enjoyed all the photos, the mural especially, the blue arc of sky in the first photo matches the blue whale nicely.
Surly Girl is looking good, yep, the old maxim: ‘You can’t change just one thing’ — is true.

It was hard to get with cars on the street….but was pretty happy with them. Amazing artists. There were three. …so true about changing one thing. Of course the seat had to be changed with the shorter stem and then the tilt was messed up…..son on and so on.

Photography always has something new to learn. Great that you can combine biking and classes.
