Monochrome.. gives us the nice one color…

We’ve ridden on the Highline Canal dozens of times since we moved to suburban Denver late last year and are impressed with the miles of off-road paths and the amount of countryside in the middle of this amalgamation of suburbs. And today’s ride was about the Monochrome Challenge.

So here goes:

Mrs. G’s lovely LHT against a wall of arguably monochromatic characteristics

Ok judges, this is where I throw myself onto your mercy. A monochrome barn with monochrome horses.

A large cottonwood.

At first glance this field might look similar to NancyG’s post. But the careful observer will recognize that I have discovered a completely new color, one that appears to be the result of a rare blending of blue and yellow! As the discoverer of this new color, I shall call it Blellow.

I am a veteran of one long bike tour along the Lewis & Clark and TransAmerica trails during the summer of 2018, and numerous shorter tours around Oregon. I'm currently settled in suburban Denver with Mrs. Grumby and am looking forward to exploring Colorado by bicycle.

Yes, of course all your pictures qualify. As far as that goes though, one legitimate entry is sufficient. We do like the cows and barn, but even better would be if you could crowd that beautiful cottonwood into the frame also. Extra credit if you go back and move it over and shoot again.

The cottonwood is a great photo — enjoyed them all — it is especially interesting.

That cottonwood tree trunk is my favorite, but the barn and cows are surely a winner.

Fine photos, Mr. Grumby! Some cowboy music would harmonizes nicely with them, preferably vocal.
My mother lived in Denver and when I went to visit her – this was in my younger and more enterprising days (bringing my bike along on a flight with changes and stop-overs didn’t seem like too much effort then) – I would bring my bike and enjoyed the off-road paths you are now riding.

I should see if a Singing Cycling Cowboy performance if in the future for the canal!
I’m very impressed with the paths in this area.
