MORE REDS

I joined the club ride that my friend led today. This is her (somewhat) annual bike ride for the bike club and today was a fine day for it. The ride is on the trail ending up at Molbak’s Nursery — which is MUCH more than a nursery! Through the month of December, they always have the big Poinsettia “Tree” on display and give free treats of a piece of Kringle and a hot drink. After our lunch we had our photo taken in front of the poinsettia …

To get the scope or of the entire tree, I took a photo of just it — with my helmet hanging on the bench as proof of my bike ride to here.

We enjoined our Kringle and cocoa, browsed all the Christmassy stuff in this huge store, and said our goodbyes for the day.

Earlier on the trail we had stopped at the lake which was our turn around point. My friend, eagle eye Cindy, pointed out the red outdoor shower up the ramp by the restrooms.

For those who swim in the lake during the summer months this is very convenient and helpful.

Good heavens, Nancy! It looks like you’ve been riding with a gang of unsavory roughnecks! They’re likely to start a rumble with our Bay Area Mad Marauders. I hope you didn’t get arrested for keeping such bad company.

    PS: Nice photos.

Yes, I must work hard to keep them under control, and that isn’t easy when it is so hard to keep up with them ;’-)

      Thanks Bill.

Good to see you all having a great time.
The poinsettia tree is something else, and not poisonous as many believe — from Mexico aren’t they?

Great picture of you and your friends! And what a poinsettia that is – I never knew they grew so big, or is that a composite of many plants?

Thanks Suzanne. I have never investigated that tree and am not for sure about if it is a collection of plants. I now have that as a mission!! And will let you know when I find out the answer.

Oh my goodness, that is a huge poinsettia – please do let us know if that is a collection of plants. I’ve never seen a photo of them as a tree… OMG I just googled it and they can grow to 13 feet tall – though in a much more bushy fashion. Interestingly, when I google poinsettia tree, the pics over in the “images” preview that comes up on the right includes a person on touring bike standing in front of one!

Thanks for looking that up Em. How interesting to have bike tourist right next to the tree ;’-)
