Mural Challenge No 3 and copycatting.

Well I think I’ve just managed to squeeze edgeways my last monthly challenge post into Cycle 365 in the allocated time, thank you leap year and time delay into Portland time. I went for a cycle around the city to the coast with my cycling club and after a coffee and muffin (of course) I took some photo’s of a few murals. The Featured Image is a Kangaroo and Koala, alas the koalas have really suffered in the latest bushfires.

It a big mural, here’s some info

Copycat Post. Here’s my local stump at the front of my street. To live past the black stump in Australia which means living out in the sticks, which means a long way from civilisation. I’m only 17kms as the crow flies from the  )Perth city centre. There’s a rusty nail in there too, next to the Ned Kelly figurine. Technically summer is over for us now, we’ve had some stormy  weather and temperatures are cooling, hopefully no more bushfires.

See you later

I live in the hills just east of the city of Perth, Western Australia and I've loved cycling all my life, From riding to primary school when I was 8 years old to cycle touring as a grumpy old man. Cycling is freedom on two wheels and I love getting on my bike at any opportunity.

Oh, that’s so great! Look at that fine piece of (microscopic) rust there. Very nice.

Yes the rusty nail was a bit underwhelming. Enjoying the Portland trees, who’d have thought there was so many species of conifer.

Some excellent mural artists there — the stump is pretty cool too.

Hooterville is past the black stump apparently — very few of the challenge items around here. 🙂

The stump is slowly been eaten by termites, so might not be there in a few years. Couldn’t make it to the most interesting mural in Fremantle, I’ll include it on another post.

Oh, thank goodness that is a rusty nail. I thought Ned may have grown a very long appendage at first! I like the technicolour koala. They are promising us a heap of rain off of ex-cyclone Esther – hopefully we’ll get it and it will settle some of the dust before you start pedaling over this way.

Glad you’re finally getting a good dose of the wet stuff, we even had lots of thunderstorms lately. Hope it’s dry for me on my ride or am I being selfish?

Terrific murals. The koala and kangaroo were very cool in multi-color. Nice stump for Ned to defend. He looked ready to hold back any trying to steal HIS stump. Cheers & happy pedaling.

Ned’s not a figurine to trifle with. Ha Ha. He’s becoming my G2 I think.

A fine stump! And great murals out your way, must be an Australian specialty. Ours are few and far between.

I’ve seen some beautiful murals on buildings around your way many years ago, very olde world.
