My Challenge (to self) of 2019

My challenge to self is to ride between Melbourne and Adelaide mainly camping along the way.

Ride with GPS says it’s a bit over 1,000 kilometers with quite a few thousand meters to climb along the way.  I expect the figures to be wrong as generally I find the longer the planned route the less accurate the climbing figures (and Max gradients) in RidewithGPS are – erring on the optimistic side.

I have scheduled a month for the ride with Sue shipping over some 3.5 weeks later so we can meet in Adelaide.

My start date is March 16th.  The Ferry is booked.  The Magnum is ready.  The gear is ready.  Am I ?  Probably !

Sounds amazing and like so much fun. Late March/early April is certainly THE best time for a tour in SE Oz, I think. I’m glad Sue gets to join you in Adelaide, too!

Nice route avoiding most of the traffic, thought you might do the Great Ocean Road. All the best
