My first August Challenge entry

This follows a theme!  I was in Armidale on the New England Tableland, NSW trying to find a ride.

Armidale is for cars and trucks not bikes.  Anyway, cycling through a park I found this little waterway – little because of the severe drought plaguing the whole of NSW.  It is pretty stagnant, full of brown plants and leaves and this shopping trolley.

If you want to catch up with my travels, find out why Sue flew home and left me cruising south with the caravan and Brompton then it’s all here : Blog Link

I am currently in Gunnedah which has some moisture so another liquid picture may happen.

    Hi Tony,

Glad to hear from you. Looks like you’re doing well with your mixed auto and bike expedition.

I see many stolen and abandoned shopping carts around here, including an occasional one upside-down in the creek along our Greenway. I guess there is always somebody who fails to respect our little bits of community parks and recreation paths.

    Anyway, ride (and drive) safe.

Thanks Bill. I hope you are keeping out of this season’s fires.

I took another shot today but realised just now that the bike isn’t in it! I will have to do it again tomorrow as the fluid is a product of the Gunnedah sewerage system!

Looks like you got all challenges present and past in one shot – liquid, bridge, something old, and I think there are some trees in there, too.
Sorry to hear you are traveling solo now. Hope everything will be ok.

Thanks Suzanne. I am having more than a few issues with WiFi on this trip so haven’t been keeping up with the posts too well. I look forward to catching up with yours properly in a couple of weeks time (when I get back home).

I’ve just now caught up on your posts – It looks like you’ve made the absolute most of the trip. Glad you finally found some warmer weather, though I’m sad to see you travelling solo. My mum has had terrible vertigo at times and I know how frustrating and debilitating it has been for her. So my heart goes out to Sue. I’ve seen those exercises and the abrupt, quick movements involved – no wonder Oscar is startled! Have a safe trip back south!

      Thanks Emily.

I may have commented on your website re your latest post – I tried but the system seemed to lose it. Or maybe Gunnedah WiFi lost it. Whatever – your pics showed a truely dark day.
