November Challenge: Outdoor Art

Here in the wet PNW, there is this challenge for November, the wettest month of the year, called “Ride In The Rain”. I have joined with my local bike club to form a team that we have named “Rainiacs”, and today I wanted to get a few miles in for the team ;’-). I did that, though the morning heavy rain stopped by noon (it doesn’t actually have to be raining, just get out and ride in November), and took photos of some local outdoor art.

These sculptures are at the entrance to our library which is about a quarter of a mile from our house. Once on my bike, I added more miles of course. I could not take just one photo as there were all these creatures that I could not fit in to one picture.

See what I mean. Too many cute ones to not get each one. These are Georgia Gerber art pieces, and there are more in town (Everett) that I will be on the road for as I continue the challenge.

Thanks Em. The rain had at least stopped before I actually was riding. It had rained hard earlier in the morning, then normal rain in the later morning until about noon. That is when I hopped on the saddle for some short riding.

Love the rainiac challenge and how a challenge can make things fun that otherwise would just be unpleasant.
    Great little sculptures!

Me too Suzanne. I look for any challenge I can find, and I have made up a few of my own in the past ;’-).

I love the whimsy of those sculptures. All of them are around the library? How wonderful.

Yes, they always bring a little smile when entering the library. I love them all!
