Oh, Deere!

I won’t pretend that it didn’t sting a bit to have not one, not two, but THREE responses to my first July submission chiding me for failing to place a bicycle out in the pasture next to that beautiful Cockshutt 30 we encountered.  It felt unfair at the time, but since then I’ve had my eye out for another suitably august subject.  Finally, on the final day of the month, I’ve found my prize: a John Deere Model D tractor, presumably dating back to somewhere between 1925 and 1939.

To establish my credentials, here’s another shot of this beautiful tractor, with not just one but TWO bicycles, plus a comely bicyclist thrown in as a bonus.

you can see other pictures of the tractor and the day, here.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

what a great tractor, you showed those pedantic nigglers. enjoying your travels in the Canadian Rockies, shame about the heat, smoke and beetles.

Stained reputation restored. However, the Committee of Niggling Pedantics has entered into your Permanent Record the unfortunate Cockshutt 30 incident as well as the photographic omission at the bridge in Greece. We trust you will prove more diligent during the Challenge of the Month for August.

Thanks, I suppose. I was hoping that the unfortunate incident in Greece would have been forgotten by now. That’s SO last spring.

Reputation rehabilitated, no more transgressions in my books. The Greek incident is still rather ambiguous since there is a picture with your bike in it. And you did meet the July deadline. I am glad to see that you are taking the rules seriously. As for the August challenge, it is clear that you can’t use anything from SO last spring.
