Old and New Challenge

Well, looks like I’m online… for a while, anyway. It comes and goes, and no telephone yet. That story is getting very old by now. Let’s talk about old and new with a bicycle.

We really don’t have to go far for lovely bicycle outings, we don’t have to take a whole day, we can just take off for a spontaneous ride in the nearby woods and countryside. I continue to be amazed. Yes, we miss some things in Munich, but certainly not everything, not the effort it took to cycle in surroundings like we have now.

Old ladder and new ladder, one is on a hunter’s tower or hide, the other for servicing electric lines (I suppose)
Not original, I know. I’m a copy cat, but happy that I could find old and new signs. For some reason the distance to Buchendorf increased by the time the newer sign was erected.
Here we are in the Eichelgarten, Acorn Garden, where there are wonderful oak trees of all ages.
Thanks for the inspiration, Nancy! Can’t have enough new bicycle path surfaces.
Bicycle parking with old wood fence, new wire fence – I’m cheating for sure. They look like they were put up at the same time. But the bicycle is a newer mode of transportation than the donkey.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. I have three kids and eight grandchildren - so I'm pretty old. Cycling, photography and walking are my favorite things.

There is no such thing as cheating ;’-) Cheating shmeating! I love your old and new, and am so glad to have inspired a couple of you with old and new road work ;’-).
It is so nice to see you back here finally!

I agree. Nice to have you on line, and a very nice gallery. It’s shaming me – as soon as I get past the worst of jet lag I’m going to need to snoop around myself.

Great you can easily access some good riding areas.
Good composition of old and new — I need to look more closely!
