OOM-PAH-PAH LACKING

My oom-pah-pah in our “moody” weather has indeed been lacking ;’-0. Though I have done a couple of rides, they are nothing to speak of.

For the first time on an errand ride, I decided to try out our Travoy trailer for a grocery run. I truly like doing errands by bike, but am limited for any amount of ‘stuff’ I can buy because of little carrying capacity on my Bike Friday. I could use larger panniers I suppose, but I don’t want to purchase those simply for shopping. we have had the Travoy for quite a while, and Susan has used it often enough. I never had until this day.

We attached the attachment to my bike that is needed to attach (;’-)) the Travoy. And off I cycled to the store.

We have the rain cover for it. That was good for this drippy morning ride.

The Travoy holds much more than I needed to purchase on this trip, and it rolls along behind me as if nothing was there. I so much enjoyed using it for this errand, and will now tow it to the store when we need a lot of groceries. Saving a 4-5 mile car ride!!!

It happens a lot, but every time I don’t think I have enough oom-pah-pah to go out on a bike ride, I FORCE myself to do it. I can’t think of a single time I’ve regretted it. Something positive always arises from a bike ride–even if it’s just to pick up the mail and a few groceries.

Big fan of Tom Cuthbertson here — “Anybody’s Bike Book” and “Bike Trippin.”
From the 70’s but still some good info — of course that is the era of bicycles I have for the most part.

In Bike Trippin Tom said essentially what Greg just said, even if you dont feel like it, once you are out there you become glad you got out there and got going.

Cool trailer! Lots of room and doesnt have excessive width to deal with.

Thanks Greg and Rich. I do that quite often and tell myself I need only to ride a mile and I can come home. I always ride more ;’-0.
    The trailer is great.

Nice trailer! Based on this month’s Challenge, I’m thinking maybe you could stuff a few small children in it. 😉

Now THERE is an idea! And many would fit in the trailers. Thanks Bill.

A very cool trailer. Nothing like shopping to get me out on my bike. And sometimes the ride is really just there and back, but I always enjoy it. Actually, I never take the car for shopping any more. But the daily picture is what has really gotten me out on my bike, regardless of time constraints or weather. Again, it’s not always a long ride but it always feels good.

I agree that running any errand by bike is one of the best times! That will get me out there as well. My goal is to shop much less with the car now that I know how easy it is to pull the Travoy. Taking a photo everyday will help too. I must say though that I have a difficult time getting out EVERY day. Things just get in the way of that, dang it.
