Red-dy for the December Challenge

My favorite color has always been red. I have red jackets, red shirts, red paniers… If there had been a red bike available when I bought my e-bike, it would have been red, too. So I am glad I am going to get a shot at this month’s challenge. We are going to be traveling for three weeks in December, and without our bikes. So if I didn’t get red this week, it was going to be too late. With this time constraint, I decided a red pannier, admittedly a lazy way to get red in my pictures, would do just fine.

Today was our first snow. Just lovely, not too cold and the streets clear, just a white coating on the trees and fields in the morning. So instead of taking pictures of different red things, I wanted to show you some nearby scenes in the snow, with a bicycle and a red pannier.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Beautiful. It’s amazing how much a small splash of color stands out like that.

These are absolutely beautiful Suzanne. Great idea for your red pannier in such a pristine setting. I hope we will hear something from you as you travel in December. Sure will miss your posts if you cannot do any during your adventures. Have fun.

What Scooter said — the spark of red really accentuates the beauty of the photograph.

Have a great trip, hope there are some bicycles to photograph along the way.

Nice photos! They almost make me wish for a dusting of snow around here. Almost. πŸ˜‰

Have a great trip! That really is a beautiful snow – just enough to make everything pretty but not hard to get around.
