Reflecting on 6 weeks of only a little riding

The very gentle approach to energy use continues. We rode a grand total of 51 kms over two days last weekend. There are some pictures from a short gentle ride we did on Monday in the national park at the end of my latest website post here.

Nerdy chick in Australia who loves to ride and is accompanied by the crew: 'The Commander' Verne and the 'Mental Health Specialist' Kermit.

    Hi Em,
Nice to see that you are making progress. Maybe you should try a margarita once a month to help with recovery. Seems to work.

    Cheers,
    Keith

Ah, just don’t tell my mom it was the margarita doing its work instead of all of her love!

Great to see you are on the rebound!
Looks like a good time in CO — 🙂 @ Kermit and Verne exploring the geology at Canon City. (Gneiss photo) – 😉

Thanks, Rich – yes the guys had a very ‘gneiss’ time exploring the rocks and rivers in Colorado.

Must be tough with your family on the other side of the world, and I complain about mine being on the other side of the city. I’m heading off on a weeks cycling trip next week and will take some mozzi repellent, Ross River can be a problem in some places here.

Yes, parents so far away is hard, and will only get harder as they need help and I now know I can’t really go back. I hope your dad is comfortable and going as well as can be. Yes, watch out for the mozzies. The West Nile virus I have is a different type of the kunjin virus which you get out there on rare occasion (we don’t get it in this part of Oz). The closest thing here that is related to West Nile is dengue and Murray River Encephalitis. I would take Ross River any day over the one I have – Ross River goes for your joints – mine goes for your brain and kidneys. Ugh. I hope your ride is a whole lot of fun and relaxation!
