To the west of Kuala Lumpur is the Titiwangsa Range, which forms the backbone of the Malay peninsula. It is a 30km drive for me to get to the Hulu Langat area, but the drive is always worth it. As you can see from the satellite map below, there is hardly any development to the north and west of Hulu Langat
When we feel industrious we turn left from Route B19 onto Route B32 and start climbing toward the border between the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
Today we stayed on Route B19 toward the Semenyih Dam and onward to Semenyih town.
We have had a lot of rain lately, so the lake behind the dam is full. Always a good thing to see. A few years ago it was so dry we had water rationing. Hard to believe for a country which averages 250cm of rainfall per year.
There are a couple of small waterfalls that feed into the lake.
It makes a nice change to be on quiet rural roads surrounded by nature.
