Ride North and East
A moderate northeasterly breeze suggested Dave and I should head that direction for a change — seems like most often a southerly wind keeps us riding in that direction.
Heading north out of town and then east we crossed the Kankakee Beaverville and Southern RR, paused for a little break and continued to the (now) World Famous town of Cheneyville IL. Took a circuit of the town using most of the 5 streets and had a nice tailwind back home to the west.
This is the KBS RR crossing the North Fork of the Vermilion.
Thats Dave’s Trek 930 on the left, and my “Rescue Raleigh” on the right. Rescue because it was in very poor condition — for sale — on a guys front porch for weeks before I decided if I didnt rescue it it would wind up at the salvage yard.
For Suzanne — later in the day, this is the best my CoolPix could do with the vultures so far away!

Rescue Raleigh inspects the growing corn which has grown 2″ in the last day or so.
Party Bridge in the background — no evidence of new parties.

Thanks for the vulture pic!
Very nice rescue bike! I rode a rescue bike for a couple years in college until it was killed when I was hit by a car. Her name was Pansy, and I jumped her off curbs, did all my grocery shopping with her, etc, even though she was just a girl’s dept-store 10-speed 🙂
Thanks, it took some TLC but came along very nicely, turned out way more solid that it looked at first.
Sorry Pansy was lost, glad you weren’t!!
