Now that’s what I call rocks! I have to start peeling my eyes in our surroundings. I haven’t seen much so far. Pebbles maybe.
What a fantastic collection of rocks from your past tours you have over on your website!

You know my theory. Take a million photos of everything I see, and if I’m lucky one or two might turn out halfway decent. 😉

That’s quite a diverse collection of rocks. I have seen most of them before, but they’re still awesome. And every time I see that one from the 2015 Grand Canyon trip, I just want to shout out “GET OFF THAT ROCK, OLD GRUMBLEFACE . . . YOU’RE GONNA FALL IN!”

I know. And it’s not uncommon to see news reports of tourists who while just walking along the rim and minding their own business somehow manage to fall to their deaths. But the real death-defying daredevil in the family is my ace support crew. She climbs and descends near-vertical trails while carrying a backpack bigger than she is. The outfitter with whom she has done a couple of expeditions has a page warning prospective customers about the difficulty of some of the routes. That page is illustrated with a big photo of my ace descending a sheer face where the trail has eroded away.

OK — you win the challenge. I won’t even try to compete!

But I will compete with myself to find the measly small rocks around me ;’-0. Your photos are beautiful!

OK — you win the challenge. I won’t even try to compete!

But none of those photos actually qualify for the Challenge, because they weren’t taken this month. I was just trying to get myself in a rocky mood. Now I need to keep my eyes open throughout January. Meanwhile, I bet you come up with some rockin’ photos.

Correct. Glad you disqualified this otherwise great entry. I get tired of playing the bad cop.

A Lithospheric extravagance! Beautiful photos, one and all.

The Megabreccia of Titus Canyon particularly.
