Round 1

Now where was I … it was last year some time, wasn’t it, that I last posted. Some things have happened since then. Pandemic, fires, smoke, drought, politics, retirement. And now, almost best of all, we’ve moved out of Silicon Valley and over the hill to Half Moon Bay. We’ve spent a fair amount of time coastside the last few years so we’re pretty happy to have landed here. I’ve also ridden out here often, but now that we’re living here I’m seeing new things every day.

While I haven’t been posting I have been lurking to keep up somewhat. Now that all that *waves around* is past I’m happy to be up to posting. The monthly challenges are fun and you folks have been so creative. The scavenger hunt theme – nice one, Rich! I just rode one day with the two lists and I learned so much about our new home.

Here are a few items I’ve scavenged for Round 1 so far. What I’ve got for Round 2 is in a separate post. And thanks a lot Rich for getting Round 3 out already. So much to do ….

A fork in the road: here’s Pokey at the junction of two trails in the Quarry Park just a few blocks from our house. My first time riding here.

Dots or spots: some dots on an interesting Little Free Library in Princeton-by-the-Sea.

Travel trailer: this one is not far from our house. I don’t think it’s going anywhere soon.

Out of state license plate: This Coloradan is ready for anything, even at Quarry Park.

Discarded tire: It’s still being useful.

Great finds. Glad you will join us on the hunting. This is Rich’s challenge, not Bob’s. It is a fun challenge and will get you around your new area I’m sure.

As Nancy says, Rich gets all the well-deserved credit for this challenge. Nice finds, and congratulations on your move!

Um, well, maybe you could bask in the reflected glory?

Congratulations on your retirement and new surroundings!
Nice finds, great you are getting to explore your new place and do the hunt at the same time.
    Happy Bike and Seeking!

Thanks, Rich, and boy and I glad that we can edit these posts after we first publish them. Sorry I mis-identified the instigator of the brilliant scavenger hunts.

I missed you so much, Goddess. Even if you’ve renounced your god-ism, I’m still glad to see you back. If your new location produces more pictures like the Little Free Library mounted on a surfboard, I’d consider it a successful move.

You make me blush, Greg. Thank you.

This new place is part funky surf town, part fishing village, part McMansionville. I like the beach and fishing parts best, but I have to say there are some really interesting houses built here. I loved that little free library so much I was going to post it no matter what until I saw the dots that made it officially scavenged. There’s more. Always more.

Happy to hear that you have been lurking and with us all the while, and that we have a new scavenger player.
