Family Christmas for us is on Christmas Eve, so today is a relaxing day, kind of. There is no rain today and for a while I saw some blue sky with the threat of sun lurking in the wings. Time to ride!

It was cold at 38 degrees as I started my ride at 11:00. Late enough for it to warm to as warm as it would get I figured. I felt sure that the blue I saw was widening and would soon cover the sky and support the sun. I was wrong.

It did not get above 40 degrees, but hey — no rain. I rounded up a few more walls.

A newish red brick wall. I ran an errand and used my panniers to carry a few items to our friend’s house nearby, then returned home after unloading the goods, to drop off the panniers. This is a building not too far from her house.

This art and gift shop by the sea is no longer open but I enjoy the wall.

And here is my favorite for the day — and maybe of all the walls I have posted. It is at the start of an alley and I think it is an old garage, maybe even a really old horse stall. Very hard to tell.

I have had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope everyone else has too.

Interesting walls — now Im wondering why the bricks are arranged in rectangles set off by lighter mortar.
Nice sunny day here, temp near 50 — ride this morning, but Christmas activities in the afternoon.
Downtown brick walls post coming soon. Camera thought it was still the 24th — oh well, 🙂

I too wondered at the rectangle looking ‘blocks’ of bricks. Makes me think they are pre-arranged on a backing and placed on the wall. Not nearly as nice as the old, ‘authentic’ and beautiful red brick walls ;’-)

I love the little garage! The brick in the first pic almost looks like those sheets in craft stores that hobbyists use in railroad dioramas and the like. It almost doesn’t look real! Glad you forced yourself out in 38F weather – I am not forcing myself out in 38C 🙂

I had a similar thought about the red brick wall, and went up to it to tap on it! It IS brick but I agree it looks like a facade used in crafts. My 38 is not your 38, but both are at a level of potential discomfort ;’-). Mine a bit less so.

I don’t really know Tony, but it is a long wall of a big building so I suppose that could be.
Thanks for looking at my post and for the comment.
