Sonoma Vortex

When I rolled out of bed this morning, here the temp was approximately 70 or 75 degrees F warmer than balmy locales in the Midwest. For the second day in a row I decided to ride in honor of my vortexed comrades in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Illinois. I scooted out the Greenway with the temperature up to 65. On the way back, I spotted a passenger airliner approaching the Santa Rosa airport (see upper left in photo) and imagined it must be full of frozen cyclists and their bikes fleeing the cryo-zone. Someone should have warned them we’re in for several days of rain.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

Sonoma Vortex looks great to me! Rain or not.

Bundle up and crank up the furnace, my friend!

By the way, today RJ (over in Bloomington-Normal) told me that in an average year he rides in highs around 95 and lows around 15, for a difference of 80 degrees. That beats me by a lot, but probably gets blown out of the water by Greg, based on his foray in Hastings this morning.

Yep, next report from Greg could be from the Dempster Highway on his way to Inuvik in the NW Territories. 😉

Nice catch with the plane. It’s been weird here for a few days….warm like 79 then cold an hour later then warm again and repeat. But hey I’m not going to complain with this group.
