Stringy Green

Out for a ride on regular routes on a beautifully clear and cool morning.

We all know we see things from a bicycle that would go unnoticed in an automobile.

Passing over a water way I happened to notice this:

Long strands of algae in what is locally known as the Stink Ditch

Once carried waste water from the canneries, and yes, it lived up to its reputation

Just flowing with the current

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

Funny, but looking at the first picture even before reading your caption, I got the impression of the smell of swamp water. But I’ll bet if there used to be runoff from a cannery, it smelled a lot worse than just swampy.

Awww, no, but it reminds me of the green eyed structure you photographed some time ago.
Remind me, what was it again?
