It looks as though at least part or maybe all of the area you rode thru was involved in the 2017 fire?
If so, things are recovering very well for the most part.

    Nice ride, enjoyed the photos!

    Crummy weather here.

Yes, much of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park burned in the 2017 fires. A few burned trees along that trail, but not many. Most of the damage is farther back and higher up. You’re right that nature is healing. Still plenty of scars, but every time I’m up there it looks better and better.

It definitely doesn’t look like optimal bicycling weather in your neck of the woods. Unless you like cold, wind, freezing rain, and snow.

I’m envious that you get to ride! Snow, ice and soon wind, are keeping off my bike for the third (and most likely not final) day in a row!!!! Not liking this.

But I love your photos and your little jaunt in the woods ;’-)

Nancy, it must be about to time to toss a bike aboard your RV, climb into the pilot’s seat, and steer that baby toward weather that suits your cycling clothes! After a week or two of delays, I’m hoping to get away in the very near future.

Those look like very enjoyable and pleasant rides (before the rain, anyway). I love the action shots. Still too smoky to ride here and I’m getting cabin fever!

The news around here is not very geographically specific when it comes to Australia, but I’ve seen reports of rain Down Under. I hope the fire threat is receding in your neck of the woods.

No rain yet. Supposedly Monday, but they keep revising down the amount. There is still active fire and warnings, etc about 20 miles from here. But I’m safe and fires not coming this way. I’m tired of all the smoke and having to stay inside!
