May Bridge Challenge: The final bridges of May

We encountered a few more bridges on our weekend riding. We also wondered – does a dam wall count as a bridge or do you have to take a photo over the out-take?

Most importantly, we tried for extra credit with a bridge named after Bill’s surname since he is the instigator of the challenge. Alas, there was no stone bridge on Stone Bridge Lane. Someone that is good with Photoshop can insert the sign at the bottom into Scott’s photo of the stone bridge… or the photos that emerged with Suzanne climbing the bridge above Rachel’s bike šŸ™‚ See pics below for our last round of May bridges.

The guys on the bike heading across the dam at Lake Buffalo. Does a dam count as a bridge?
My bike on the dam wall – there was enough traffic that we weren’t game to take a photo on the single-lane out-take structure you can see in the distance in the Verne and Kermit photo above.
One of the bridges over the Buffalo River.
View of the Buffalo River from the bridge in the pic above.
I have finally done it!!! This is the trifecta I’ve been looking for all month: bridge, bike and guys on the water. This is McGuffies Bridge over the Buffalo River.
Bike on the old rail bridge over Barwidgee Creek. This is on the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail.
Small bridge on the rail trail. Not sure what the fuss was about – I think the ends of the guide rails are not rounded enough – so if you were unlucky enough to be that far over, you could impale yourself if you ran into the ends?
Burgoigee Creek Bridge in the Murmungee Basin.
That is the rail trail bridge heading over Fighting Gully Road about 6 kms out of Beechworth.
Pedestrian and bike bridge over Happy Valley Creek in Myrtleford.
Our extra credit sign – there may have been a stone bridge down that lane at one point, but the lane ends only a couple hundred metres ahead now. No stone bridge – but I did get excited for a few moments!

Nerdy chick in Australia who loves to ride and is accompanied by the crew: 'The Commander' Verne and the 'Mental Health Specialist' Kermit.

Hope you found a bridge and you are healing. Trees are going to be easier for me than bridges were – I think you need to live in a more temperate climate and with a greater population to get good bridges!
